Senior's murder, child's rape: Cases in Murf. courts today

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (AP/WMOT) — There are a couple of high profile court appearances schedule for Monday in Murfreesboro.

William Brace will be in court to face charges that he murdered his is 86-year-old Murfreesboro neighbor Jean Espy. Espy’s body was discovered along a country road in Bedford County back in February.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation arrested the 60-year-old Brace in connection with the case on March 1 and charged him with First Degree Murder. Prosecutors say they could seek the death penalty.

Also in court today, former Murfreesboro resident 46-year-old Nancy B. Aragon will answer to a charge of Sexual Battery by an Authority Figure.

Police say four years ago Aragon participated in the abuse of a then 14-year-old Murfreesboro girl.

Charles Aragon is awaiting extradition to Tennessee from North Carolina to face related charges of Rape, Sexual Battery and Incest.

Police say the case against the Aragon’s results from a yearlong investigation after the victim came forward with details about her alleged abuse.
