2 children die in house fire in Middle Tennessee

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Police say two children have died and another was critically injured in a house fire in Middle Tennessee.

The Leaf-Chronicle (http://leafne.ws/1IGTCFz) cited a statement from Clarksville police that said blaze was reported about 4 a.m. Tuesday, and firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke and flames coming from the residence.

The statement said two children, ages 9 and 11, died as a result of the fire. A 14-year-old child was flown to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in critical condition.

Three adults were able to get out of the home and weren't injured, according to police.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
