MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WMOT) -- Murfreesboro Police say a LaVergne man led them on a high speed chase through the heart of the city Friday afternoon.
Smyrna Police put out an all-points bulletin for a pair of armed men driving a sliver Crown Victoria automobile Friday. An MPD patrolman spotted the vehicle in Murfreesboro during the lunch hour. When he tried to pull the car over a high speed chase began.
Police say the chase started on North West Broad, then on to West Main, New Salem Highway, and finally down Middle Tennessee Blvd. Officers say that at the corner of New Salem and Middle Tennessee a gun was thrown from the driver’s side window.
The Crown Vic came to a stop at the corner of Middle Tennessee and Park Ave. The driver, 18-year-old Nakelvious Featherston was arrested on several charges, including Evading Arrest, Weapons Possession, Reckless Endangerment, and Evidence Tampering.
Featherston was booked into the Rutherford County Jail on a $25,000 bond. He’ll make an initial appearance in General Sessions Court in mid-October.
