MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WMOT) -- Police have removed five guns and ammunition from the home of Murfreesboro man who says he suffers from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, or PTSD.
Officers were called Monday to a home on Aurora Circle in response to a reported break-in.
The homeowner told police he’d caught some children in his home. He then told officers one of those children was trapped inside one of his dining room chairs. Patrolmen say no one else was in the home.
The man eventually told police that he suffers from PTSD and has had delusions in the past. He agreed to a mental evaluation and was transported by EMS.
The MPD says the man asked them to take possession of his three hand guns, a rifle, shotgun and ammunition for “safe keeping.”
