Murf. couple carjacked, robbed over holiday weekend

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WMOT)  --  A Murfreesboro couple tell police they were briefly carjacked and robbed late Friday night.

Charles A. McKnight says he and his wife were stopped on North Highland near the old hospital when two black males got into their SUV.

The McKnight’s say the men both chambered rounds in handguns and demanded money at gunpoint. The pair then rifled through the couples’ purse and wallet.

The police incident report then says a gun was placed to the back of Mr. McKnight’s head and he was told to start driving. The two men got out moments later and about  mile away near the First Baptist Church at the corner of Castle and Bilbro.

The McKnights were only able to provide a few details about their assailants. The case has been turned over to MPD detectives for investigation.
