MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WMOT) -- Murfreesboro suffered a rash of vehicle burglaries Wednesday.
Eight cars were reported broken into. Six of those break-ins took place in the area immediately south of the Middle Tennessee State University campus.
Twenty-four-year-old Keith Hall filed one of those incident reports. He says his vehicle was parked near building “B” at Campus Crossing Apartments overnight. When he went out the next morning his trunk had been broken open.
Hall says more than $24,000 worth of DJ sound equipment was stolen. He tells police the equipment was on loan from Studio Instrument Rentals of Nashville.
The website Crimemapping.com reports there have been 426 vehicle burglaries in Murfreesboro since the first of May.
Murfreesboro suffered an even larger rash of burglaries back in July when more than 30 vehicles were reported broken into in a single weekend.
