MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WMOT) -- The family of a Murfreesboro man killed at the Percy Priest Lake Mona boat ramp have raised the reward for information about his murder to $40,000.
Fifty-three-year-old Gregg Hawkins was fishing with his daughter on October 16. He left her in the boat while he went to the parking lot to retrieve his truck. Hawkins apparently interrupted someone stealing from vehicles in the lot and was shot and killed.
His widow, Janet Hawkins and her children, are determined to see the killer brought to justice.
“Greg was a good man. I’ve been with him for over 36 years and Greg did not deserve this. I wasn’t finished being his wife and I need your help to bring justice to this.”
The Hawkins family is offering $40,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of a suspect in the case.
