Plea agreement hearing set for man charged with shooting MTSU students

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WMOT)  --  A plea agreement hearing will be held in a Rutherford County courtroom Friday for the man charged with shooting two Middle Tennessee State University students.

Rutherford County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Jakeil DeAngelo Lindsey within days of the April 26, 2015, incident at the University Gables Apartments. He was indicted by a Grand Jury in early November on four counts of Attempted First Degree Murder and six counts of Aggravated Assault.

The Daily News Journal reports Lindsey pleaded not guilty to all charges November 18.

Police say during the April incident Lindsey fired several shots in the parking lot of the apartment complex. Nineteen-year-old MTSU student Dartavious Brettenum was shot several times. Nineteen-year-old student Travious Miller was also wounded. Both men were flown to Vanderbilt Medical Center by Life Flight helicopter.

Jakeil Lindsey is being held in the Rutherford County Jail on a bond a bond in excess of $500,000.
