Armed thieves invade pregnant Murf. woman's home

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WMOT)  --  Gunman pushed a pregnant Murfreesboro woman to the floor and held her at gunpoint Tuesday.

In a report filed with police, 21-year-old Emily Whittemore and 22-year-old John Bess said two black males knocked on the back door of their West Main Street home Tuesday evening.

Whittemore tells police she recognized one of the men and so opened the door. When she did, the pair rushed inside knocking the pregnant woman to the floor. The men then demanded money at gunpoint.

Mr. Bess tells police he recognized one of the men as his brother’s drug dealer.

The thieves apparently left empty-handed. No word on whether Whittemore was injured.

The case has been turned over to MPD detectives for investigation.
