Murfreesboro Police say there were called to the Vie apartment complex at 4:53 Friday morning. Witnesses directed police to man lying in the parking lot between buildings three and four.

That man was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say his identity remains unknown.

Witnesses also alerted police that a dark colored vehicle was seen fleeing the scene after the shots were heard. Officers quickly stopped a vehicle matching that description and discovered that the driver had been shot in the leg.
