MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WMOT)  --  Three people were shot in three separate incidents over the weekend in Murfreesboro.

Wingate St. resident Christy M. Smith called police just before dawn Friday morning to say she’d been shot. When officers arrived on the New Salem Highway and I-24 scene they found Smith sitting in a bullet riddled car. The 26-year-old had been shot once in the upper torso.

Last night at a little after 9 p.m. a man bleeding from a gunshot wound to the leg walked into the Thornton’s gas station on Old Fort Parkway. As the EMS crew cut away his pants to treat the wound police say a baggie of pills fell out of the man’s sock.

Less than 20 minutes later Antebellum Dr. resident Tyler Hollingsworth called police to say he’d been shot in a robbery. He says two men entered his home and demanded money and one of the men shot him.

All three victims were transported to Vanderbilt Medical Center for treatment. No word yet today on their conditions. MPD detectives are investigating the incidents.

If you have any information about any of these shootings, call Murfreesboro Crime Stoppers at 615-893-STOP (7867).
