MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WMOT)  --  Murfreesboro Police are calling an early morning shooting attempted murder.

Police say they were called to the University Ridge Apartments on South Rutherford just after 1 a.m. Tuesday.

They arrived to find Jakarius Dontae Reynolds bleeding heavily from four gunshots wounds to his groin and both legs. Media reports say he was taken to Vanderbilt Medical Center by Lifeflight helicopter for emergency surgery. No word yet on his condition.

A second person, a 17-year-old juvenile, suffered a gunshot wound to his hand and was taken to St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital for treatment.

Witness tell police two black males pushed their way into the apartment and opened fire following an altercation.

This past weekend two men were shot just blocks away at a Hookah Bar.  Just under a year ago three people were shot and wounded at a neighboring apartment complex.
