tn.gov/health

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Mike Osborne ) -- The number of Tennesseans admitted to hospitals with COVID-19 continued to climb sharply higher this week, while the number of Tennesseans choosing to get vaccinated against the virus continued to fall.

As of Thursday morning there were 890 state residents hospitalized due to the virus.

Compare that to the Fourth of July when there were just 195 Tennesseans under hospital care. That represents a 365 percent increase in just 25 days.

As recently as May, roughly 190,000 Tennesseans were completing vaccinations each week. During this past week, just 28,000 state residents received their final COVID-19 shots.
