NPR Slingshot Artist Liz Brasher Playing Nashville

There are reasons why fairy tales and lore exist in our collective psyches. The fact is their themes can surface, for real, and envelop us in joy and wonder. It’s a beautiful thing when you are presented a magic carpet.

I was talking to the Secret Sisters a couple of weeks ago, hours before the Grammys, and they were amazed that life had gotten that unbelievable and that awe inspiring. This new era comes from their talent, work ethic, and the accolades accruing for their Grammy nominated album “You Don’t Own Me”.

At times, one can feel the axis shifting underfoot. What was normal before simply evaporates and is replaced by the divine. Just starting her career, Liz Brasher has jumped on a magic carpet too, and it is a joyous ride even in its earliest stage. 2018 started with a bang, with Liz being named an NPR Music Slingshot artist.

She is on the road a lot; just back from Sweden, and an appearance at Folk Alliance, then getting ready to make her way to Austin to open for The Mavericks. Just before that, she is coming to Nashville to make her debut at The Five Spot on February 28th. WMOT was proud to present her as part of our holiday Wired In show in December, along with Sierra Hull, Will Hoge and Raul Malo of the Mavericks. And WMOT will be getting together with Liz again for a session earlier in the day on February 28th, so you can hear it before she takes the stage that evening. Oh, and we can’t wait for more of her music to hit the streets, and yes, that is coming soon!
