NASHVILLE, Tenn. (OSBORNE) -- Famed Nashville heart surgeon and former U.S. Senate Speaker Bill Frist is calling Nashville’s health and well-being “miserable.”

That’s Dr. Frist’s reaction to a just released survey that takes a deep dive into Nashville’s health.

The survey of more than 1800 Nashvillians was conducted jointly by the Metro Health Department and Frist’s non-profit NashvilleHealth.

Among the findings, one-third of Nashville’s sizeable Latino community does not have health insurance.

The Tennessean quotes Dr. Fisk saying “We have good healthcare here, but the health and well-being is miserable.” Frist concluded, "We, as a city, are much worse off than people think.”
