Grim pandemic milestones for Tennessee: 5,000+ cases, 100+ deaths
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Mike Osborne) -- Tennessee reached some grim coronavirus milestones over the weekend.
The state on Saturday passed five thousand confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 100 deaths.
Nashville continues to lead the state with 1256 infections and 13 deaths. Shelby County has 1216 cases and 20 fatalities. Sumner County has the state’s largest number of coronavirus related deaths at 22 and third most infections, currently reporting 445 cases.
On a more positive note, there were no virus related fatalities reported Sunday, the first day without a death in about three weeks.
