Sturgill Simpson posts angry Instagram message about COVID-19 testing experience

Sturgill Simpson

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Mike Osborne) -- Country Music great Sturgill Simpson reported over the weekend that he is COVID-19 positive after a length struggle to get tested.

Simpson revealed in a long Instagram post Sunday that, after touring in Europe and up and down the U.S. East Coast, he fell ill back on March 13th.

He says his wife took him to a Nashville area ER with a fever, chest pain and "pre-stroke blood pressure levels." He says a "highly condescending" doctor there refused to test him for coronavirus.

Simpson goes on to say he finally got a test on April 6 that came back positive even though he’s now been symptom-free for some time.

Simpson closed his post by upbraiding President Donald Trump for pressing to "Open America back up for business!"
