Tenn. Senator Blackburn bashes fact-checkers following her RNC speech Wednesday night

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Mike Osborne)  --  Tennessee Senator Marsha Blackburn is reportedly not happy about the fact checking her RNC Convention speech received Wednesday night.

The Senator’s message was billed as a tribute to American heroes. Blackburn praised ER nurses, law enforcement, and members of the U.S. military.

She also mentioned community volunteers at Cookeville’s Double Springs Church of Christ and soldiers serving with Ft. Campbell’s 101st. Airborne Division in particular.

However, Senator Blackburn spent equal time bashing Democrats. At one point she compared Democratic Party policies to those of the Chinese Communist Government.

Fact checkers at NPR, CNN, and the New York Times immediately challenged several of Blackburn’s claims.

WSMV-TV in Nashville quotes the Senator characterizing the media pushback as “shameful.”
