Metro police issue thousands of health warnings, dozens of citations over holiday weekend

MNPD

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Mike Osborne)  --  Nashville police report they issued about 60 citations and made three arrests over the holiday weekend for violations of pandemic restrictions.

MNPD says it also broke up two large parties. The first was a house party on West End Ave. The second involved more than 300 people gathered at a bar on Rivergate Parkway.

City officials were embarrassed in early August when video of a huge house party on Fern Ave. went viral.

A few days later, Mayor John Cooper announced Deputy Chief John Drake would immediately replace Chief Steve Anderson.

Drake quickly announced health restriction enformcement as his top priority.
