NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Mike Osborne) — COVID-19 on Monday took the life of a Tennessee resident every 7 minutes.
State health official reported a total of 198 virus related fatalities during the 24 hour period ending Tuesday morning, a new, all-time high.
On Monday, Tennessee also topped 9,000 deaths since the health crisis began last March. Coronavirus has now taken 9,162 lives statewide.
It took 130 days to mark the first 1,000 deaths in Tennessee. It took just 15 days to record the most recent one-thousand fatalities.
