Vanderbilt offers free webinar for parents on cyberbullying and online safety

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Mike Osborne)  --  Vanderbilt Health will offer a free webinar on Cyberbullying and Internet Safety Thursday afternoon.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation reported in 2020 that its agents had detected a surge in activity by online predators. The warning was issued as the state’s school children began remote learning in reaction to the coronavirus pandemic.

While most Tennessee children are now attending classes in person at least some part each week, remote learning remains in the mix for most students.

Topics will include safety risks, recognizing predatory child grooming, helpful tools for parents, strategies for talking.

The hour-long training begins at noon on Thursday. Questions will be taken at the webinar’s end, but must be registered in advance. You can register for the webinar here.
