Michael Feinstein

The Ambassador of the Great American Songbook, Michael Feinstein, explores the legendary songs of 20th century America in a new NPR series, Song Travels with Michael Feinstein. Produced by SCETV Radio, the series surveys the passage of American Popular Song throughout the American landscape, evolving with each artist and performance.

Beginning with his tutelage under Ira Gershwin, Feinstein has mastered the history and performance of American popular music and today, re-imagines this music for a new century, as he welcomes guests to share unique stories through their own “song travels” through the Great American Songbook. Guests include Joshua Bell, Thomas Lauderdale (Pink Martini), Bette Midler, Liza Minnelli and Rumer.

“In this series, we talk about songs. How important they are in our lives… how they’ve changed our lives…how sometimes they make life worth living.” ?–Michael Feinstein
