NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WMOT) -- Donald Trump was expected to win big in Tennessee, but his victory was even more resounding than pre-election polling predicted.
President Elect Trump won about 61 percent of the popular vote in Tennessee, 13 percent higher than indicated in October polling by Middle Tennessee State.
Hillary Clinton won just four of the state’s 95 counties, but she won handily in Tennessee’s biggest cities: Memphis and Nashville.
Poling indicated third party candidates might take home as much as 6 percent of Tennessee's popular vote, but yesterday those candidates barely pulled down one percent statewide.
