NASHVILLE, Tenn. (OSBORNE) -- Middle Tennessee could see an end to its long spell of hot dry weather the first of next week, but not before setting some mid-state records.
Nashville Weather Weather Service Meteorologist Matt Reagan says the mid-state will on Tuesday tie the all time record for the number of days in a year with highs 90 degrees or above. With tomorrow and Thursday expected to also push above 90s degrees a new record is in the offing.
Reagan says that’s not the only record to fall this week.
“It was the driest September on record. The airport only picked up 0.02 inches of rain, breaking the old record of 0.13.”
Reagan says the mid-state normally sees about two inches of rain during the month of September.
