MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WMOT)  --  It was a busy weekend for Murfreesboro Police, including a shots fired incident and an armed robbery.

On Saturday the MPD was called to the Dollar General store on W. Northfield Blvd. just after 6 p.m.

Store employees tell police a black male in his 50s wearing a blue trench coat and sunglasses entered the store. The man reportedly threatened a clerk with a knife and demanded money.

After the clerk handed over everything in the register, the robber fled.

A K-9 unit was able to track the suspect to the Haynes Manor Apartments. Police say they have a suspect, but haven’t yet made an arrest in the case.

Early Sunday morning Murfreesboro Police responded to a shots fire call on Pavilion Place. Police say they found shell casing in the driveway at 2902 Pavilion.

The home’s owner told police that he was having a party and had thrown some guests out for causing trouble. He says the guests fired several shots in the air before leaving.

The homeowner refused to provide police with any further details. Officers say they found 6 shell casings from two weapons in the driveway.
