NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WMOT) -- If you’re planning on traveling for the Thanksgiving holiday, you won’t be alone.
AAA says more than a million Tennesseans will hit the roads this weekend. The agency predicts nationwide nearly 48 million Americans will be traveling. That's about a two percent increase over last year.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol says eight people died on the state’s roads during Thanksgiving last year.
The THP will be out in force with extra patrols. Expect to see a trooper every 20 miles along Interstate 40 over the long holiday weekend.
