MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WMOT) -- A GoFundMe account has been opened in the name of the veteran who recently committed suicide at the VA hospital in Murfreesboro.
Fellow veteran Allen Chapman tells the Daily News Journal he wants to create a lasting legacy to his friend St. John Toombs.
Toombs was reportedly suffering from PTSD and substance abuse. He hanged himself on the VA grounds the day befor e Thanksgiving after being refused re-entry into a rehab program there.
Chapman says the funds will be used to create a college scholarship in Toombs’ name.
