Wayne Moss, one of the earliest and most prolific members of Nashville’s studio A Team and owner of the longest-running independent recording studio in the area, died on Monday at the age of 88. The West Virginia native moved to Music City in 1959 and joined Brenda Lee’s band. He was a core member of the studio band on Bob Dylan’s Blonde On Blonde. He played the iconic riff in Roy Orbison’s “Pretty Woman.” And his Madison, TN studio Cinderella Sound has been a hidden gem since 1961. In 2018, Craig Havighurst and radio producer Gina Frary Bacon visited the studio and sat with Moss for this career-spanning interview.
