Air Guitar U.S. Championship this weekend in Nashville

usairguitar.com

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (RANDY O'BRIEN) -- We’ve all done it. A blazing guitar solo inspires you to jump up and mimic the player’s talented moves. It’s called Air Guitar and The 2019 US Air Guitar Finals are coming to Nashville’s historic Exit/In on August third.

That’s right, people who do what you do in private, are playing Air Guitar in public and competing to find out who is best.

Brittany Diaz, state name Georgia Lunch, is the current 2018 U-S Air Guitar champion. Lunch is a relative newcomer to Air Guitar and says she’s a fan of rock and heavy metal:

“Being such a huge lover of music I just kind of brought my passion into a performance and I wound up becoming the national champion.”

Lunch will defend her title against the 2017 US Champ “Mom Jeans Jeanie” —who couldn’t defend her title last year while having a baby. Also expect to compete will be “Airistotle” the 4-time US, 2-time World Champion.

The winner of the Nashville competition will move on to represent the U.S. next month at the Air Guitar World Championship held each year in Finland.
