Franklin's Cool Springs Galleria to remain open as mall owner files for bankruptcy

cblproperties.com

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Mike Osborne)  --  The company that owns and operates the Cool Spring Galleria mall in Franklin says it plans to file for bankruptcy.

CBL properties owns the Franklin mall and twelve other shopping centers across Tennessee.

CBL says it was hit hard in the spring when mandatory pandemic closures kept its retail store tenants from paying rent.

CNBC quotes CBL officials saying the company has already come to an agreement with its creditors and hopes to move quickly through Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

The company says operations at its malls and shopping centers will continue uninterrupted.
