CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (Mike Osborne)  --  Add Montgomery to the growing list of mid-state counties re-imposing mandatory mask orders.

County Mayor Jim Durrett announced the order in a Facebook post Tuesday. Clarksville Mayor Joe Pitts endorsed the move.

Rutherford County reinstated a mask mandate this week. Williamson, Putnam and Wilson counties issued new mask mandates late last week.

Davidson County’s mask requirement has been in place since late June.

State health officials say the seven day average of new COVID-19 infections reported in the Greater Nashville area has quadrupled in 24 days.
