Tenn. senator's social media campaign against China draws angry response

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Mike Osborne)  --  Tennessee Senator Marsha Blackburn sharply escalated her long running Twitter feud with the Chinese government on Thursday.

Blackburn has railed against China on a near-daily basis for months. Topics range from the origins of COVID-19 to trade issues.

Late last week Blackburn posted a tweet concerning cotton imports and slave labor. She accused China of, her words, “5,000 years of cheating and stealing.”

A Washington DC based reporter with the state-owned China Daily newspaper responded.

He referred to Blackburn using a derogatory term and concluded she is, his words, “the most racist and ignorant US Senator I have seen.”
