WMOT

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Mike Osborne)  --  Tennessee this week passed 7,000 deaths resulting from COVID-19 complications. State records show one out of every four of those fatalities has occurred among the residents of the state’s long-term care facilities.

Nashville has suffered the most mid-state nursing home deaths, reporting 82 fatalities to date. Rutherford County has recorded 62 long-term care facility deaths.

However, when nursing home deaths are compared to each county’s total population, records show Sumner County has recorded the most deaths per-capita.

The Bethany Center in Nashville and NHC Healthcare in Hendersonville have reported the largest number of mid-state deaths in a single facility, with each recording 21 deaths.
