Publication ranks Tennessee vaccination effort 46th out of 50 states

Tenn. Dept. of Health

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Mike Osborne)  --  A new report ranks Tennessee fifth worst in the nation for its effort to get residents vaccinated against COVID-19.

The highly respected trade publication Becker’s Hospital Review recently ranked Tennessee 46th among the 50 states for vaccine administration.

State health officials on Thursday report roughly 1.5 million residents have now received their first dose of vaccine. Just over half a million have gotten both shots.

That’s roughly 13 percent of the state’s total population.

Tennessee will on Monday open vaccination eligibility to an estimated one-million additional residents in group 1c.
