Tenn. Attorney General protests Biden Admin. guidance on transgender bathroom use

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Tennessee Attorney General Herbert Slattery is leading Republican opposition to guidance from the Biden Administration on how businesses and schools regulate bathroom use by transgender individuals.

The federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission recently updated legal guidance on the issue. The guidance was revised following a recent decision by the U.S. Supreme Court on LGBTQ employment rights.

AG Slattery says the Biden Administration guidance goes well beyond what the high court ordered.

Slattery has penned a letter to the administration outlining his opposition to the changes. The letter was co-signed by some 20 Republican state AGs.
