NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Mike Osborne) -- Tennessee health officials reported one additional COVID-19 related death on Wednesday. Twenty-four patients have now died of coronavirus complications.
Officials said there are now 2,683 confirmed cases of COVID-19 statewide, up 444 cases in one day. There are 200 Tennesseans hospitalized. Some 137 residents have recovered from the illness.
Eighty-four of Tennessee’s 95 counties have now reported at least one case of COVID-19.
The state has begun releasing county level data on COVID-19 related deaths. Sumner County has recorded seven fatalities, Metro Nashville four deaths, Shelby County three, Hamilton County two, Williamson County two, and one each in Greene, Knox, Marion, Rutherford, and Trousdale counties. One non-resident has also died due to coronavirus complications.
Nashville Health Officials reported a total of 673 confirmed cases of COVID-19 Wednesday morning, up 132 cases in 24 hours. Eighteen city residents are hospitalized. Some 90 individuals have recovered.
A third drive-through assessment and testing site opened in Nashville Wednesday. The new site is located in the parking lot of an old KMart on Murfreesboro Pike in Antioch. The site joins two other assessment centers operating at Nissan Stadium and Meharry Medical College. The sites are open 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Before visiting a drive through center, residents must first be screened by calling the Nashville Coronavirus Hotline at 615-862-7777.
