Vanderbilt poll: November election leaves Tennesseans deeply divided along partisan lines

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Mike Osborne)  --  A new Vanderbilt poll released Thursday shows Tennesseans deeply divided along partisan lines.

The poll shows just 15 percent of Tennessee Republicans surveyed think Joe Biden is “the legitimate winner of the presidential election.”

Seventy percent of surveyed Democrats believe President Donald Trump is “trying to steal the election.”

The Vanderbilt poll shows Tennesseans are united, however, in their concern for the pandemic’s impact on the state’s school children. Better than 8 in 10 residents -- regardless of political party -- fear learning has been diminished.
