NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Mike Osborne)  --  An outspoken member of Nashville’s Coronavirus Task Force is calling President Donald Trump’s most recent comments about the pandemic “totally unacceptable.”

Dr. James Hildreth is President of Meharry Medical College, an infectous disease specialist, and a leading member of Metro’s outbreak response team.

In social media post on Monday, Dr. HIldreth responded to President Trump’s assertion that Americans should not “be afraid of COVID.”

Hildreth wrote in part that the president’s words are “unacceptable in light of 210,000 dead.”

He goes on to say “All of us should be afraid of COVID if not for ourselves for those close to us who may get very sick and die.”
