NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Mike Osborne)  --  Nashville recorded an unusually high number of new COVID-19 infections over the long holiday weekend.

Metro health officials reported an all-time high 824 new cases on Sunday alone.

Five of the city’s top ten worst days for new infections have now occurred in November.

With one day remaining it looks like July will, however, retain the grim title of worst month for coronavirus related deaths in Nashville. So far this month the virus has proved fatal for 68 Metro residents, 85 died in July.
