Following 2 new arrests, 13 Tennesseans have now been charged in the Jan. 6 U.S. Capitol attack

U.S District Court for the District of Columbia

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (Mike Osborne) -- Two more mid-state residents have been arrested in connection with the January 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol.

Matthew Baggot and Stewart Parks are each charged with entering the capitol illegally, disorderly conduct, and impeding official business. Parks is also charged with theft of government property.

An FBI affidavit says tips from witnesses, including family members, alerted law enforcement to social media posts indicating the two men participated in the riot.

Thirteen Tennessee residents have now been arrested in connection with the capitol attack, including ten from here in the mid-state.
