Democratic challenger refuses to concede in lopsided Tennessee Senate election

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Mike Osborne) — Former U.S. Ambassador Bill Hagerty is Tennessee’s new junior Senator elect.

With all 95 Tennessee counties reporting final results, Hagerty received 1.8 million votes or 62 percent of all ballots cast.

Democratic challenger Marquita Bradshaw received just over a million votes, or 35 percent of ballots cast.

In spite of the lopsided count, Bradshaw has so far refused to concede the election.

The Memphis Commercial Appeal quoted Bradshaw Tuesday night questioning the integrity of the election and insisting she plans to contest the results.
