Top federal scientist urges churches to return to remote services

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Mike Osborne)  --  A Nashville based Southern Baptist Convention leader’s conversation with a leading scientist has received national attention.

SBC Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission President Russell Moore interviewed Dr. Francis Collins Thursday. Collins is Director of the National Institutes of Health.

During the interview, Dr. Collins urged the nation’s churches to again move to remote services to avoid becoming COVID-19 super spreaders. Collins is a Christian who himself attends church services regularly.

Dr. Collin’s comments come the same week the U.S. Supreme Court struck down pandemic restrictions directed at houses of worship.
