Tenn. reports new, all-time highs for COVID-19 deaths, new cases, hospitalizations

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Mike Osborne)  --  Tennessee again this past week marked all-time highs for COVID-19 related deaths, hospitalizations and new infection counts.

There were 364 virus related fatalities statewide during the week that ended this past Saturday. That’s a 9 percent increase over the previous high recorded two weeks earlier.

There were 553 seriously ill COVID-19 patients hospitalized statewide last week, a 17 percent increase over the previous high mark.

The number of new, confirmed infections rose 16 percent above the previous record last week, marking a new high of just over 34,000 cases in seven days.
