NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Mike Osborne) -- Tennessee marked some troubling new pandemic milestones this week.
State health officials on Tuesday reported a new all-time high 100 COVID-19 deaths in just 24 hours.
The state has reported new records for virus related fatalities three times in the first 8 days of December.
Another grim milestone was reached on Monday. Tennessee has now passed 5,000 total COVID-19 deaths.
It took just three weeks for virus related fatalities to jump from 4,000 to 5,000 dead.
Tennessee recorded its very first coronavirus death on the March 21.
